The company Mohn, which has provided services for several years to the metropolitan area of Barcelona, has lost most of the concession it had in a public tender for the provision of services, which has given way to a new operator in the metropolitan area of Barcelona formed by Avanza and Vigueresa de transportes.
New operator
The bid submitted by the UTE AVANZA MOVILIDAD URBANA, S.L.U and VIGUESA DE TRANSPORTES, S.L, has won the tender of the Metropolitan Area of Barcelona (AMB) to award the contract for an amount of 249,883,778.00 euros to provide urban bus service between Barcelona and Baix Llobregat.
The routes it will cover will connect Barcelona city with Viladecans, Gavà and Castelldefels, and will also link the connection between the municipalities and their internal urban services.
The Avanza fleet will consist of 209 buses with state-of-the-art clean energy technologies.
Bus line changes
These changes will affect to reach Viladecans and commercial areas such as the Viladecans Outlet or Vilamarina by bus, the nearest stop to them is Ctra. de la Vila – Centre Comercial on line L80.
Lines L80 and L81 will be merged and will become a single line, L80, which will mean more regular service, every 15 minutes on weekdays and 20 minutes on Saturdays, holidays and during the month of August.
The E81 will change to the new, more direct E80 express line every 20 minutes on weekdays.
Lines L86 and L87 will merge and become a single line, L86, which will mean more regular service, every 15 minutes on weekdays and 20 minutes on Saturdays, holidays and during the month of August.
The E86 express line will increase its frequency every 20 minutes on weekdays.
